Dot is the main mascot and also the co-host of PBS KIDS. She is Dash's younger sister and Dee and Del's older sister. She was the curator and host of Dot's Story Factory. Every day, she focused on some of the stories that viewers submitted.

Dot was 4-5 years old from 1999-2008 and 6-10 years old from 2008-2013. As of the redesign in the fall of 2013, she is 11-12 years old.

Personality[]

Dot is a green human girl and is kind, friendly, and very curious. When she was younger, her curiosity often got her into trouble, but she's quick to learn from mistakes. She learns many other things from her older brother and looks up to him, as he is her best friend.

Dot was able to speak, and communicates through each sound she saying, "Wow!", and more sounds others could understand in some PBS Kids bumpers from 1999-2006. Later, she got her prototype voice in the Story Factory on the air of PBS Kids in 2008 in some shows. It was Elsie Fisher who voiced her. As 9/6/13 came, she was replaced by her 11-year-old version with her twin siblings Dee and Del.

Dot is playful, bubbly and happy-go-lucky, and she likes meeting new friends. Like Dash, she also loves the computer and is a bit of a techie. She often has to look after her two younger twin siblings,[1] which is hard work, but she likes them just the same.

Appearance[]

1999[]

Dot had straight, medium-length black hair. She wears a pink-and-white striped sweater, black pants, and white shoes. unlike her brother Dash, her nose is drawn as a solid black dot, hence her name. She was 4 feet tall.

2013[]

As of the Fall 2013 rebrand, Dot's hair is wavy. She now wears a white polo shirt with a zipper (which has a number 10 on it), but with her pants and shoes kept intact. Instead of black, she has pink eyes. She is around 5 feet tall.

Voice role history[]

Elsie Fisher was the original voice of Dot; she was just 4 years old at the time of voicing her. She also voiced Agnes in the 2010 animated film, Despicable Me.

Dot didn't speak for a little while when she was redesigned, but eventually spoke again in 2015 and is now voiced by Aja Wooldridge who was 8 at the time she started.
